Bio

Portrait TH 3_edited.jpg

Thierry is attracted by color inspirations and by Provence for the brilliance of its colors and intensity of its contrasts. His personality and the stroke of his knife tend to split, creating a distance and an interesting disorder between the man, the artist and the work under creation.

Light is present in all its colors, ranging from white to black through greys and all these many stunning spots of red, yellow and blue which punctuates the composition. The lights of Provence shines in his new work, like all artists who were fed by the Mediterranean Sea and its "chromatic frenzy". The brilliance of the colors splashes like a revelation. His creation has more movements, more energy, more freedom, the familiar small flat strokes of his knife swirl like a raging sea.

Great-grandson of painter Hugues de Beaumont (1874 - 1947), Thierry grew up in an artistic universe. Passionate by travels, it was in Manila that he discovered his love for painting. The Chinese community nicknamed him “Longhaï” by consonance with his French name of "Longuemar". "Long" means dragon and "haï" means sea, a very powerful and fortunate name in the spiritual sense of Chinese tradition.

Thierry paints with his anger, his joys, his passions, his vision of the World which he says he cannot express in words "the vibration of each color corresponds for me to an emotion, a word if you prefer, whose sentence would be the composition of the painting and the syntax, my technique”.
